Breath 2 Sneak Preview
We completed the press check for Breath No. 2 this past weekend. The magazine is now at the bindery and should be ready to ship on June 15th. We’ll begin accepting preorders after we receive the “all clear” from the warehouse.
We had a couple of days to relax and explore Vancouver after our press check. (Last year it rained the whole time we were there.) We discovered the Fluvog shoe store in Gas Town and picked up a few pairs of shoes before flying back home from Seattle. We got a kick out of Fluvog’s vibe and thought his mantra described us as well. Breath isn’t mainstream by any stretch of the imagination, and that makes it so much more fun. We’re so glad you’re on board with us.
The Baptism of Spirit and Power
One thing that makes us different is that we are Full Gospel. The baptism of the “power from on high” not only brings about the gifts and manifestations, the Spirit also leads the believer into a more concrete understanding and experience of the Gospel. As Charles Finney puts it, the baptism provides a “direct teaching of the Holy Spirit” that generates the megawatts for preaching.
Stepping Up and Stepping Out
Prove what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Ephesians 5:10–11)
We plowed some new ground in Breath No. 1 with The Wayward Prophet and Show Me Your Glory. And we didn’t rest on our laurels putting together No. 2. We not only finish out the sign of Jonah, we strapped on Paul’s admonishment in Ephesians and shined a light on a popular “secular” chapel down here in the heart of Texas. In Angel of Light, we show not only that the Lord is alive and well, but that the prince of the power of the air is, too.
A few weeks ago we began producing podcasts to supplement the magazine’s content and to fill out the platform a bit more. We thought about videos, but the production costs were high and the set up arrangements were too much of a fuss. Plus, we weren’t all that enamored with the idea of becoming just another YouTube advertising channel, especially since we’re hellbent on remaining ad free. Podcasting allows us to maintain control of our content, and the episodes are eminently mobile—you can listen to them anytime, anywhere, no matter what you’re doing.
We received an email from Apple this week saying that it plans to improve its podcast application in the fall. What great timing—in the not-so-distant future you’ll be able to download both a transcript and Peter’s personal notes from each broadcast.
You can subscribe to the podcast at this link.
Breath No. 3
We haven’t set a publishing date yet for No. 3, but we can tell you it is already in the works. You’d think that we would run out of material after publishing 270 magazine pages of content, but we filled up our article board in less than an hour.
We plan to revisit some of Peter’s older publications and reissue them as Breath ebooks. Look for updates to our Shop page this fall.
